The Scariest Leadership Lesson EVER!

So… changing lanes is a scary thing.  In traffic is the worst.  You know what it is? …It’s the blind spot!  The blind spot has always freaked me out.  I hate that I have one, and I hate when I’m in someone else.  When people change lanes without dealing with their blind spot they can cause all kinds of havoc.  At the very least they can cut someone off, creating high levels of stress.  At the very worse they can cause a major accident resulting in someone loosing their life.  Every driver has them, and every driver has to make a choice how they will deal with them.  But really, without question, blind spots are the scariest part of driving.

What about us leaders?

All leaders have a “blind spot”!!!!  This freaks me out! I hate the idea that there is something about what I’m doing that is potentially having a negative impact on someone else and I don’t know about… or worse yet, I know about it, but I can’t “SEE” it!!!  Here’s the deal… at the very least your blind spot is potentially cutting people off, causing levels of stress, and at the very worse you are leaving a wake of human havoc.

It’s your choice how you will deal with your blind spot!  I think the biggest thing is knowing YOU have one!

So here’s my leadership thought on this:

“Don’t think you are better than you
really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring
yourselves by the faith God has given us.” Romans 12:3 (NLT)

Okay… so that isn’t exactly my leadership thought.  :)
